This spanner draws the lines of a staff. The center (i.e. middle line or space) is position 0. The length of the symbol may be set by hand through the width property.

line-count (integer): Number of staff lines. If you want to override this for staffs individually, you must use \outputproperty. \property .. \override will not work: \override is processed after the StaffSymbol is created, and will have no effect.
staff-space (dimension, in staff space): Amount of line leading relative to global staffspace.
thickness (number): thickness, measured in stafflinethickness.
width (dimension, in staff space): width of a grob measured in staff space.
