4.7.9 Text scripts

It is possible to place arbitrary strings of text or markup text (see Text markup) above or below notes by using a string: c^"text". By default, these indications do not influence the note spacing, but by using the command \fatText, the widths will be taken into account:

     \relative c' {
     c4^"longtext" \fatText c4_"longlongtext" c4 }

It is possible to use TeX commands in the strings, but this should be avoided because the exact dimensions of the string can then no longer be computed.
