4.15.2 Ancient accidentals

Syntax

Use the style property of grob Accidental (lilypond-internals) to select ancient accidentals. Supported styles are mensural, vaticana, hufnagel and medicaea.

As shown, not all accidentals are supported by each style. When trying to access an unsupported accidental, LilyPond will switch to a different style, as demonstrated in input/test/ancient-accidentals.ly.

Similarly to local accidentals, the style of the key signature can be controlled by the style property of the KeySignature (lilypond-internals) grob.
