  1. Keep a list of old syntax for at least 1 stable release; give a warning if that syntax is detected.
  2. Give a warning or error if lilypond 2.16 is used to compile a file which claims version 2.14 or lower.
  3. Make more noise about convert-ly in release announcements and/or the documentation and/or website.
