9.4 Integrating HTML and music

Music is entered using

<lilypond fragment relative=2>
  \key c \minor c4 es g2
</lilypond>

of which lilypond-book will produce a HTML with appropriate image tags for the music fragments:

[image of music]

For inline pictures, use <lilypond ... /> syntax, where the options are separated by a colon from the music, for example

Some music in <lilypond relative=2: a b c/> a line of text.

A special feature not (yet) available in other output formats, is the <lilypondfile> tag, for example,

  <lilypondfile>trip.ly</lilypondfile>

This runs trip.ly through lilypond (see also Invoking lilypond), and substitutes a preview image in the output. The image links to a separate HTML file, so clicking it will take the viewer to a menu, with links to images, midi and printouts.

This page is for LilyPond-2.4.5 (stable-branch).
